We provide advice and support to help you gain Tōtika Pre-qualification.

Tōtika is the Health & Safety Prequalification scheme that has been developed and implemented by Construction H&S (CHASNZ) to create a standard for all Health and Safety pre-qualification standards and processes across industries. It allows you to benchmark contractors against the market and stick to a single platform and set of processes.

Pre-qualification is important to the contractor relationship, increases efficiency, and is often described as a warrant of fitness for your business in regard to Health & Safety. Lara Manley

Learning & Development Manager

Lara has been with Risk Ready for four years, during which she has done extensive work supporting customers in Health & Safety. She holds a NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, which provides her with an excellent understanding of occupational health and safety issues and bespoke solutions. Lara is a practising member of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM), the leading professional association for Health & Safety Practitioners in New Zealand.  She has supported numerous customers in successfully achieving pre-qualifications such as SiteWise, Totika and ISNetWorld.

Beginning her career as a Training Manager for a large South African casino, Lara has worked across a range of sectors, including hospitality, food & beverage processing, manufacturing, engineering, maritime, and forestry. As Northern Regional Customer Manager for Competenz (a multi-sector industry training organisation), Lara worked with industry partners to support employees upskilling on the job, help align internal training to national qualifications, and working with them to improve efficiencies within their workforce.

Lara has over 20 years of experience in training and assessment roles and has worked within these industries to create induction programmes and training programmes, and to support individuals in achieving their NZQA national qualifications.

Deane Manley

Deane Manley

Deane brings considerable knowledge of both industrial equipment and day-to-day business operations to bear at Risk Ready, gained after 20 years as managing director of NZ Crane Hire, one of New Zealand’s leading crane hire specialists. He holds a NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and is well versed in all aspects of workplace health and safety.  He has actively built and maintained the Health & Safety Management Systems within NZ Crane Hire, a high-risk business. 

In addition to establishing Risk Ready, Deane is a Director and owner of Rendertech Ltd, Australasia’s leading manufacturer of waste processing equipment for the meat and dairy industries. Since 2009 he has also been a Director of Kawerau Engineering Ltd, and helps to run a medium-sized logging operation in the Bay of Plenty with his daughter and son-in-law.

Prior to founding NZ Crane Hire, Deane spent 14 years in the financial sector heading up senior roles with UDC and GE Capital, including five years as New Zealand Manager for GE Capital. Deane has kept an active interest in the financial sector through involvement with Armillary Private Capital, and his boutique finance company Equipment Capital Limited, which is a licensed broker for Speirs Finance.

Deane has experience and expertise in safety management, strategy formation, financial management, marketing, and sales, all of which he brings to Risk Ready.
