Managing Director
With over 15 years as a Senior Assessor, National Advisor and National Manager for Health, Safety, Environment & Quality, Paul brings extensive knowledge and advice to businesses across New Zealand.
Paul has worked for some of NZ’s largest businesses including Vector, Siemens, GEA NZ Ltd, UGL NZ Ltd, Genesis and Hick Bros Group. Within these organisations Paul has headed up the most senior roles being responsible for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
During his career, Paul has been responsible for developing and implementing health and safety strategies, eliminating and managing risks, and setting up operations for team compliance.
Paul was Group Manager of Health & Safety for Genesis when they won the Safe365 Safest Place to Work - Innovation Award in 2018 and was finalist for the Large Enterprise Safety Award.
Paul is providing NZ businesses with knowledge and support to assist with Health and Safety governance through to developing operational policies and procedures.
Learning & Development Manager
Lara started her career as Training Manager for a large casino in South Africa. From here her extensive career of over 20 years in training and assessment continued. During this time Lara worked across a range of sectors, including Hospitality, Food & Beverage processing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Maritime and Forestry.
Lara has worked within these industries creating induction programmes, developing ongoing training programmes, and supporting individuals to achieve their NZQA national qualifications.
As the Regional Customer Manager –Northern for Competenz (a multi-sector Industry Training Organisation), Lara worked with industry partners to support them to upskill their employees on-job, aligning their internal training to national qualifications and supporting them to improve efficiencies within their workforce.
Having established Risk Ready Ltd with Paul, Deane brings considerable knowledge of industrial equipment and day to day running of businesses, gained after his 20 years as the Managing Director of NZ Crane Hire – one of New Zealand’s leading crane hire specialists. He is a Director and Owner of Rendertech Ltd, Australasia's leading manufacturer of waste processing equipment for the meat and dairy industries and has been a Director of Kawerau Engineering Ltd since 2009. Deane also helps run a medium sized Logging Operation in the Bay of Plenty with his Daughter and son in Law.
Prior to founding New Zealand Crane Hire, Deane spent 14 years in the financial sector, heading up senior roles with two of the country’s biggest lending institutions, UDC and GE Capital, including five years as New Zealand Manager for GE Capital. Deane has kept an active interest in the financial sector through involvement with Armillary Private Capital and his boutique finance company Equipment Capital Limited which is a licensed broker for Speirs Finance.
It is this experience as well as his comprehensive expertise in day to day safety management, strategy formation, financial management, marketing and sales which Deane brings into Risk Ready.
